The EFFAB (European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders) & FABRE TP (Farm Animal Breeding & Reproduction Technology Platform) annual meeting was held on 12-13 June 2024 at the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences of the University of Bologna in Italy. It gathered 105 people active in the animal sector, coming from governmental or European institutions, research centers, breeders’ associations, and private companies.
DETECTIVE partners from EFFAB and CRA-W participated in the meeting. Geena Cartick (EFFAB) summarized the DETECTIVE project during the “Research and Innovation in the EU” session, highlighting projects involving EFFAB. Frédéric Debode (CRA-W) presented the DETECTIVE project and some trends in the genome editing of animals in the “Regulatory and Ethical Dimensions of Gene Editing” session.
This meeting was also an opportunity to network and to empower stakeholders around the traceability and authenticity of NGT products.
